President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday visited Bauchi State to condole the people over the recent windstorm disaster at the state capital and the inferno at Azare’s central market.
Speaking at the palace of the Emir of Katagum before proceeding to the wrecked market, Buhari described the incident as a will of God.
“I felt so much pained when I heard about the incident and felt I have to come myself to commiserate with you.
“I believe this is something from God and only Him will compensate those affected by the fire disaster. I pray God Almighty be with you during this difficult time.

“Please, extend my heartfelt condolences to all those marketers whose properties were destroyed in the fire disaster and tell them that we are with them anytime.”
Governor Mohammed Abubakar thanked the president for the visit, saying it showed his (Buhari’s) care for the people of the state.
The Emir, Umar Farouq II, said billions of Naira were destroyed by the fire that razed the over 100-year-old market.
